Going to be fishing in a couple of weeks around port sulphur. Never been to that area so I have a question. I have an 1852 flat bottom mud hull with Gtr. My buddy wants to take his center console because it's set up a little better to fish from. A 1652 semiV. However his motor is an outboard with jet drive. Would this be pointless in this area and just suck grass the whole time so we should take mine, or is the grass not too bad this time of year? The jet will run way skinnier than mine but with floating grass or grass within a foot or so of the surface it sucks it pretty bad. Thanks for any input.

Me personally, if I would go somewhere I've never been, id take the Surface drive.
If you just so happen to run some skinny water, or mud along with the grass you're talking about, it wont leave yall stuck/stranded.

Id take the GTR

That's how I'm leaning. Can anyone give me first hand info on the vegetation situation down there?
