 Re: Gun recommendation
Oh wow, never even heard of that stock before. Heard the recoil lug isn't a necessity on short action stuff, but can't hurt to add it if you're doing the work anyhow. Who is building it for you?

 Re: Gun recommendation
They haven't changed the recoil lug, but mountain tactical has steel ones for cheap. They have, however, redesigned the ejection port. T3x I think is what the redesign is called.

 Re: Gun recommendation
Anything from a mass production manufacture requires some attention if you want it's full potential. Some are easier to improve than others. The majority of accuracy issues are when things move. Scopes shift in rings, rails shift on actions, barrels heating up and touching stocks, actions shifting in stocks. Until you get all of the parts 100% locked down, you really don't know how good the barrel itself is or how true it is to the action (without measuring). No matter what it is, the first thing I do, before I even shoot a new one, is bed the action, make sure barrel is fully floated and epoxy the rail to the action, then get the trigger right. Then, it's finding the right recipe hand loading. I do like how Tikka's rail is integrated, one less part to shift. Defiance actions are awesome and I have a local smith that has them custom built for him. Top quality work. And of course, all that shit goes out the window if the shooter can't shoot.

 Re: Gun recommendation
T3x is the newer version with a larger ejection port. Lug is still aluminum.
