I'm gonna post this letter in each post talking about the bowfishing ban. I got this email today about a meeting to discuss this bill. I just want everybody to know about it.



Everyone:

The Committee on Natural Resources will review/discuss SB 573 at the Capitol in Room A on Thursday, April 22, 2010, upon adjournment of the Senate or 10:15 a.m., which ever is later .

This bill is expected to draw a crowd. If you plan to speak before the committee, please fill out the appropriate card at the desk in front (green in favor or red opposed - also, please indicate whether you wish to speak in favor or against the bill on the same card). The chairman of the committee determines how much time the speakers are allowed to speak.

Finally, I've tried to cover everyone who asked to be notified. If I missed someone, I apologize. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you at the committee hearing.

My brother told me yesterday that the hearing on the 22nd is one of three. After that then it will go to the governor.
How true is this?
I have been on the internet over here in Nigeria and the company has a lot of the sites blocked so I can not read them. The only way to get info is from here and louisiana sportsman.

Got the same reply. I've written to my congressmen/women on numerious occasions, but this is the first time that i don't get responses. On every occasion they kick my back a little "Thank yoiu for your thoughts and such" bs from the assistant, but on this matter the 11 senators that i e-mailed that is the only response i've gotten. From the looks of it they have their minds made up allready. EVERYONE. Not MR./Mrs. , not To those who have responded, Not MR Jeff Guidry seeing as they want all your information when you respond to a subject. EVERYONE. Like a little Sc#$w you. If you want to talk about it come to the meeting otherwise quit blowing up my e-mail

Some of the things I'm reading about bowfishing from people who never done it before should not post things they know nothing about. one person posts "i see charter boats leaving 5+ fish behind belly up with holes in them that are too small". Ok buddy what do YOU do with the small fish that has swallowed the hook that you can't get out? Lemme guess you put them in the live well and bring them to the vet.? DON'T KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT!
