Re: Where the f#%k are the mallards?
The mallards have been thick up here in MN until this week. Most of the small potholes were froze over today. i havent seen many ducks around the last few days. I had the best shooting this fall up here since i can remember. shot more ducks this year than i did the last 5 years combined. 20's at night. snow forcasted this weekend. it's almost over here.

Seriously, you would rather eat a stinkin azz coot than a cornfed mallard? Thats an issue you might need to see a doctor about.

Re: Where the f#%k are the mallards?
I agree woodduck and teal are the sheet, but coot over mallard??? I wonder if canada is froze up yet. It just seems really late to not see the big numbers of mallards. We don't even have any divers yet.

Well, I hope for a massive cold front that freezes everything up there quick. Pushing all those ducks straight down tired and hunting water May not work out for you boys, but us down here are about due for a good season!

If you keep your head down there for too long, he's probably gonna shit on your face...and you still won't get your hunt.

Re: Where the f#%k are the mallards?
If you will send me a recipe, I'll give em a try. It is possible I would be the first yank in history to put a knife to one!! I think I could have swatted 20 with one shell yesterday afternoon. If I like em do I have to call em pool dooo????????? The front that came through yesterday brought us some new ducks. Shot 5 mallards in a 2 hour hunt in the evening. (2guys) Saw more than I have in weeks. Some numb nuts shot and crippled a bald eagle on our stretch of river. Made the front page of the Peoria Journal Star. Forkin retards just make it harder for the rest of us. People see everything up here, whoever did it is bound to get caught!

Mallards look good, but other birds eat better. Whole Teal smothered in a pot with some potatoes with smoked sausage... Sha baby... make my belly pop eating them suckers!

Re: Where the f#%k are the mallards?
I hunt almost exclusively in the upper peninsula of michigan. We are still only seeing locals, matter of fact I hunted the past three days and I am still shooting GWT which is very uncommon, typically long gone by now. We havent dropped below 30 yet which is also uncommon for our lows. I think this might be one of those years that the season ends for us before the flights come down.

Re: Where the f#%k are the mallards?
I feel the same way. The river is going to freeze or the ducks won't come down before the end of season. Went with my wife today and shot one immature pintail drake.
I was pm'ed a recipe for coots so tomorrow they are gonna take a beatin!!! My partners are gonna shitt when I pull up and empty on a flock of 1,000,000,000.

Make sure they have completely expired before you put them in the boat. They will shit a nasty green mess all over your boat.

We are covered up in them here, still seeing flocks of 30+. There is an Arctic front coming down from Canada tomorrow so they should start heading your way real soon!
