So, the lease is over and no laws are broken. So what now? Keep it a no bid ag lease and nobody hunts anyway?

The man had it for an ag lease which requires no bid. The school board set a monetary value of what improvements he needed to make to hunt this ag lease. At no point this was a hunting or other land lease. Therefore, it didn't need to be bid out. Don't be mad bro!

But it's not leased for hunting. It's leased for ag and he got hunting privileges for doing a certain amount of improvements to the land.

We both said it alike hunting "privileges" not "lease." A "hunting lease"should be bid out. Hunting "privileges" were given in return for improvements made to a lawfully gained agriculture lease.

So, are you against people making improvements to state land?

Should they not get anything in return for said improvements?

Its fixing to get real uncomfortable for the school board very quickly. If they thought they got flak from trying to illegally grant cypress logging rights to a company a couple of years ago, they ain't seen nothing yet. Their attempts to thwart every effort to prevent the logging in that case were fueled by arrogance and prejudice on the part of some on the board. The same ones are exhibiting the same behavior on the hunting issue.

Dean at least we will be able to point them in the right direction to fine your body when you come up missing.

The world needs people like Dean. Disagree with him on most topics, but he is spot on for this. Public hunting is going away, unless you support individual battles like Dean's.
