Topped the 6-1/2 he caught last summer. The kid just caught an 8 pounder this morning.

You guys and gals really make me jealous. I haven't caught a Largemouth in years and it will be a couple of months before the water gets soft enough for a boat. There are alternatives. Here is a 41 inch 22 lb pike caught through 48 inches of ice. It's tough to beat a largemouth on a surface plug though.

Stu, feel free to make a trip down here. Be happy to let you stay at our camp on toledo bend, or stay at the house and take you out to Caney lake. We don't exactly ever freeze up, so it's an open invitation.

The kid caught a 6 pounder this morning. The quest for a ten pounder will continue again next weekend.

Caught 2 over 10pounds. Caught the heaviest of the 2 about 34 years ago. The other was longer and weight was less. I caught that one about 18 years ago. I might have a pic of it buried somewhere. We catch 6 pounders pretty frequently. If you don't weigh in with a 5 fish sack with a 6 pound average right now... you might as well not weigh in.

We've been catching these in Palm Beach and Broward Co. Kid caught an eight pounder in a Palm Beach canal this time last year. I've seen bass in there that look bigger than 10 pounds but it's hard to tell until you get them on a scale. The quest continues.

Here is mine. About 10.5 lbs on the scale. I was at a stormwater management area 2 miles from my house. I had a big cooler in my truck that I filled with water and transported the fish home to weigh and then bring back to where I caught her. I took measurements and got a nice replica made.
