To make our season better. They're starting to shut down the marshes 1 by 1 due to avian cholera. Apparently it can make people sick too. Though it doesn't happen too often they say it can. So going to try some field hunting in the a.m and see if I can't make something happen

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

The second split opener in Cameron was really wierd. It was a war to our east on the Mermentau River. Some sporatic shooting to our north and hardly a shot west or south. We were lucky if we SAW 30 birds all morning and scratched out three. Had a few more birds working in our area this morning and let the kids do most of the shooting and we ended up with 5. One GWT, one spoon, two ringnecks and a bluebill. This has been the worst season in 5 years for us, but HEY, the floor in my blind is finally above water!!!

Finally got on a decent public land shoot. 4 wigeon 5 gadwall 4 redheads 2 Spoonies and 2 snows. Best hunt ive had all year that wasnt private.
