I have been needing to buy a new rifle. I had made up my mind that I would buy a Tikka T3 in a 300 win mag and most likely a meopta scope( brad recomended)

My buddy also has a Browning Abolt stainless stalker with boss in a 300win mag. He said he would sell it to me for 500.

I can get the new tikka for about 550 or the used browning for 500. The browning is 1200 brand new.

Just want to know yalls opinion. I have shot both the tikkas and the brownings. I like them both. Just want to know which way yall would go.

Both are fine shootin rifles, but that BOSS is a loud mofo!!!!

My .270 Browning Abolt with the boss, will Let you know I shot. Its forking loud LOL

Tikka all the way. the browning is nice but im not a fan of the boss system. i know your not worried about kick, but if you must have it come check out my 300 ultra mag. they put a custom stock with a piston that takes out the kick. it shoots like a .243

also, one more question.. do you have to have the gun on fire to bolt? or safety to bolt?

i would say tikka i shoot a 270 in the t3 lite hunter stainless and love it out of the box put a laser on it dialed it in on the scope and at 100 yards you could cover three shots with a nickle must say i love it i just think a 300 is way to much gun unless you are hunting elk or bear 270 will do the job i went from a browning 7 mag to the tikka 270 and yes the boss is loud a buddy has one on a 308

I can see it for big Elk, Bear or Moose. I hunted with alot off those super magnum guys here is LA. The same guys that blows a whole forking shoulder off a deer and stands there scratching his head wondering what went wrong.

Fork a BOSS, that's why I'm almost deaf now. Never think to insert ear plugs in the heat of the moment. Emptied the clip in my .25-06 on an injured running doe at 400 yds once and my ears rang for 3 days straight. Everyone kept telling me quit yelling. Lol

Replaced the BOSS with a blank last year and actually group tighter now without the muzzleblast peeling my eyelids back. Wish I would have done it a couple hundred rounds ago.

You will like the boss, besides when you pull the trigger the deer-or what ever ur shootn wont ever hear it he be dead. an for you wear ear protection anyway. I have three 270's with a muzzel break and i mainly shoot a howa ss with synthetic stock 300wsm w/muzzel break anyone can soot them they feel like a 243 with alot more energy.if browning is in good shape buy it if you want a 300mag
