here is the deal my boat is soon to be ready and i got it with the bow fishing rails i would like to know from you guys experience what is better 300 watt halogens or 500 watt halogens i guess my question is do the 300s cut the water cause they are not as bright or are the 500s better cause the cut but are also bright. From what ive heard high pressure sodiums are the best but can really afford the price of those after spending 17k on a boat and have to save a little cash for a bow i have the ams reel and arrow already from an old setup so anything would be appreciated and if anyone has a bow for sell pm me and tell me about it |

300 vs 500 there is not much a difference... buy the cheapest route... i got 500s really cheap ($5)... if they are about even on price where you are run 300s... 300s are better if are power limited... i have a 2000watt... so i run 2 500s and 2 250s... if i could of gotten 300s cheaper i would run 5 300s... i am actually considering when they go out just putting 300 bulbs in my 500 fixtures... and buy another set of 300s but to answer you questions for light on the water they are about the same... lots of guys sell their old setups... best place to look around is here... http://bow.fishingcountry.com/bfcforums/index.php |

do 300w and 150 bulbright xp bulbs save your gen. u cant tell the deference the bulbright xp have high lumes. i have 12 lights on my boat ran buy a 3500w running 4000 peak gen. i am at 2700w. hope this helps let me know if ya need anymore help i am glad to lend a hand . ps i work for a friend that has a bowfishing charter comp. and he has airboats with 26 or so on it |

Go to econolights and get the 6x9 150 hps for 39.00 each they are alot brighter at 15000 luemes |

I started with 6 500 watt lights now i'm running 10 300 watt i cant tell the differance between the 2!! I know the more light you have the better!! |

Look on econolights there like 8.00 I run 8 150 mh on my boat and there great you just put red rtv on the base and don't worry about it |

Hps light bulbs are gonna last a lot longer than halos. Less lights needed, less current draw, higher light output, cuts through mud better, higher start up cost though. Bulbs aren't as expensive if you buy from econolight. If you buy from a local store they will be at least double the cost. We have beat them to death, dropped lights, ect haven't had a bulb go out yet. |

i use the econolight hps lghts. the housings are not very strong so you have to remove the guts out of them and make youre own brackets to mount them. it was a little time consuming and expensive but well worth it. they use very little geny power and are alot brighter than halos. |
