my son got a lease out of delacroix , it is locateds. of branville bay along the twin pipelineand runs from false river to oak river. its about 700 acres. we are both pretty new to duck hunting and wondering what to expect. how good is the hunting and what should we expect to shoot . also where would be a good place to launch and a safe route to take. i have a 17 ft. geaux skiff w/ 36 hp pro drive.i know i am asking a lot here but everyone on here has always helped out . we plan on going down sunday. thanks tom

If you go to Delacroix I would launch at sweetwater launch. If you do not want to run open water you will have to run terre aux boeufs to bayou gaudet to the twin pipes then to your lease but thats gonna be a long azz ride. If you do not mind a lil open water go out bayou gentilly and get a map and pick your poison.

You will kill greys, teal, spoons, redheads, and dos gris. Last year my dad said they had birds out there but when I went we did not see enough to get excited about. You should have birds but like anywhere it can be feast or famine.
