Wondering how the hunting (duck/deer) in and/or around Huntsville, Alabama is? My employer posts jobs up there and I was talking with the wife, might want to relocate but not 100% sure yet.

This is my neck of the woods. If you like to deer hunt there is plenty of opportunity. We have ducks but we are out of the main flyway. You have to be willing to work for the duck hunting around here. We do have the Tennessee river and a 35,000 acre federal duck refuge here so the duck hunting here is better than most places in Alabama. Huntsville is a nice city, not too big, not too small.

The Federal government keeps Huntsville propped up. We have the redstone arsenal and NASA so pretty much every job is tied to a government contract. I don't know if its blessing or a curse but if the government is spending then the economy here is good.

Like my friend horsetree said. You are gonna have to stay after the ducks. There are plenty of deer around here and we have the most lenient deer season that i know of.
