Shot a 180 pound 7 point with a 17 inch spread yesterday afternoon dropped in his tracks with that same shot you took, just a 7mag to the lungs and heart. |

Well normally at this range I would have head shot but there was a smaller doe was eating right in front of her. I bet the other doe felt the wind off the bullet she was so close LOL |

Nice !!! Love me some WhiteTail back strap !!!! Don't want to put the jack on yore thread .... but ... When I started "trick" shootin' Deer .. i.e., head, neck and 'tween eyes .... I messed up and blowed the lower jaw off one and it hurt mines feelin's !!!! Had to use two rounds to end the misery .... Also ... we quit usin' them big guns i.e., 30-06 fo sure .... don't know why .. but sometimes you shoot the whole front off one with the big guns and then you git to "re-hunt" .. that is after you shoot. I have not had no problems with mines 22-250 55 grain .... ever !!! Nother good one is that 223 ... Them comments mite could start some controvercity ..... but ... it is the troof !!! ![]() |

I love to eat deer meat so I try to put as many in the freezer during bow season as possible so I ain't got to waste days deer hunting during duck season. ![]() |

i switched my dad & daughter to Winchester Ballastic Silver Tips last year & haven't had to track one yet. granted, their shot placement has also improved since we have started shooting more, but it seemed the old remmy core lokts let us down on multiple occasions! |

Normally I dont have to track em -- they are within 50 feet of where I shot em |

I shoot a 270 WSM with 140 grain Nosler Accubonds that I reload and the performance of these bullets has been nothing short of amazing the last 6 seasons I've been using them. They expand like a ballistic tip but stay intact the whole way through turning anything that the bullet comes in contact with to gel. For a 30-06 you might want to look into some 165 grain bullets instead so you can get slightly quicker expansion out of them. |

168 grain holler point high lung shot from a 300 win mag at 225 yards will drop em in their tracks every time without exiting. |
