Get it mounted sitting on a toilet seat. That is the main hang out for a spoonie in Alabama, right close to a sewage treatment plant.

A full plummed drake makes a gtreat mount. I like them standing. i tried like hell the last week to get me another but it didnt happen. Course like always. A week to late I had a 100 birds around my blind......... with several big bull spoonies mixed in.

Sitting is nice if you want the orange/red belly to show. IMO flying is a little nicer so you can see the blue and green on their wings.

Call me stupid but I didnt realize people mounted spoonies. No offense. We try and not shoot em if we can help it.

A drake Carl Malone duck really has good colors, graft a mallard bill on it and they wouldnt be that bad.

The dead mounts are my favorite but there's very few that are mounted right.
The pic Darrel posted is awesome. I have a drake bluewing i want to mount on a stringer then i will add a drake or two every year "hopefully" until i get all the birds that we kill down here. Shit maybe even a pouldeu  . How do you tell a drake pouldeau anyway?

I like the pair but they need some other kinda plants around them instead of the fish aquarium set up. haha
