It's bout that time of the year to start catching turtles again.
Last yr I had a guy tell me he was going to put me on some turtles- snapper an loggers. Since this is new to me
I took him in my boat went down slus an set out lines in drains feeding into the main slu.
We used 3/0 hooks an chicken gizzards , string tied off to a tree limb hook sitting on bottom....
There was 23 lines set out only caught 1 small snapper an a few streaker heads...

My question is what did I do wrong... Wrong bait, area, setup, or is turtles really that allusive creatures?
Any pointers?

Build you a turtle trap. But don't get away from it for too long, people like to steal dem.

Not a bad idea give me a weekend project!
