Post subject: | Bow Fishing Deck Question |
I just put a trolling motor on my boat. I'm about to add a bow fishing deck. Do I make the deck so it fits above the trolling motor and not use it or do I make the deck and put the trolling motor on the deck and use it? Where is the best for the placement of the generator? I see some rigs have them mounted high above there surface drives and some just in the boat on the floor? What are the pros and cons of the two? |

I would mount the trolling motor on the deck and use it. You have it so why not. I have mine mounted high on the stern to keep it out of the way and no problem with fumes. If you can purchase a Honda generator you won't regret it. Very quiet and very good on gasoline. Hope that helps. |

you can get those "suitcase" style generators cheaper than the honda's look at kipor, generac. But alot of guys use the kipors and love them I would mount the trolling motor in the middle on the top deck. If your going to run the trolling motor and the lights you need to run an IOTA55, give me a call and i'll tell ya a little more on how ima set mine up |

i second that.... buy a honda and you won't regert it... one of the best investments I have made for the homsteade and bowfishing with the airboat.... Turbo is right.... Iota converters are one of the best ways to go (dont know first hand as I dont use one but just from asking around as I was considering different set ups on my boat in the future) |

You can kill plenty of fish with a troll motor. The biggest issue is going to be running out of juice... Back in the day w/ a troll motor: |

My old setup...I used a trolling motor on the quick release bracket so i could move it between the boat and the deck. i dont use a trollin motor on my new rig. i just have a buddy drive and take turns shooting. New Rig. |

Well.... Moun t your trolling motor on your deck... Get an extension to get it to the water. Ger your generator to the back of the boat as far awayy from you as possible. Take a look. Most of your weight is in the front so be sure to get that generator to the back of da boat. |
