 bull bream
i fish a small local river known for trophy bream. i can catch small ones until i'm tired of baiting hook, but few large ones. i use the usual crickets/worm deal.
Anybody got any tips on locating bull bream in a river?

 Re: bull bream
I flyfish for em. Good spots are in pockets, or small creeks feeding off the river.

I don't shit about any kind of fishing except trout fishing, or I would help you out. Maybe try a jig? Who knows.

i took a couple lessons from a fly guide in FL when i was real young. i dont remember much but ive caught a couple bass and brim on fly since then. its not too hard, just keep practicin flytyin is fun too. cool to make the lure exactly how you want it and catch fish with it

 Re: bull bream
Tip a tube jig with a small piece of worm or crappie nibble just for scent. Normally the smaller bream will stay away from the tube jigs and you'll pick up just the good ones.

 Re: bull bream
Getcha a ultra light, tie ya a small poppin bug or fly on, next add a small bobber bout 3 foot up the line, the bobber gives enuff weight to cast the fly, when ya cast and the bobber is bout a foot or so above the water, close the bail, and the fly/popper will turn over and land just right!
