Anyone know the history of the Breaux Brothers boat building business in Loreauville. How'd they start? I had spoken to one of the owners a few years ago about building an offshore fishing boat for me...not 100' like this one. I recall discussing the design aspects of the project and they were very knowlegeable. It never got built with tuition and all becoming the priority. I had some awfull good times on a 42' Bertram in my younger days.

Yea. They won't built you a boat that small. They won't build anything under 100'. They build 200' work boats. They have like 5 to build fight now. I know there history.

I'm building their new website right now :D

My dad worked for them for 12 years until retirement, and worked for their dad at Breaux Bay Craft for 30 years before that. He was a hell of a carpenter and the Breaux's really took care of him in all those years.

Before Loreauville was known for mudmotors, it was known (and still is) as the crewboat capital of the world. We have 3 major crewboat builders here along the Bayou Teche. You can ask any crewboat captain and they will tell you that the Breaux boats are the Cadillacs of crewboats and are in service the world over. You can look at several marine type magazines and chances are you'll see a Breaux boat.
