has anyone pulled a shrimp trawl behind a mudmotor. i am thinking about trying to pull one and just wondering if anyone had any experience with it. what size trawl do you think a 35hp motor could pull without haveing any problems? |

thought about it myself a time or two. i would go with a 16ft, its big enough to catch alot but no too big that the motor won't pull it. just remember you need torque to pull it not speed. |

16' would be max, but you could get into all the lil canals and back bays, if they runnin right, you should mop up |

I think 16' would work good. Thinking about doing this myself in the marsh. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to run a worn out prop. It'll let you motor turn up a little giving you a little more torque IMO. With that small of a trawl it's a good idea to have a bib on top. Catch a few big ones that ussually you don't catch in a small trawl. |
