I was riding around the lake last weekend and happened to come across this blind. Not only is it ridiculous but its not even in the actual hole.

Hate to be the one trying to hang brush on it. But shooting from an elevated blind is pretty kool.

They just could not afford high powered shells anymore. This takes skybustin' to a new level.

Hunted a Sky Blind once... Kinda neat to "water whack 'em"
from above, cause you don't get any pellets in the breast...

But pass shootin below my feet was wierd feeling...

A local guy used to climb a tree, cut the tops off, then build a deck on the top. They brushed it up and it would look just like the tops of all the other trees. The area he hunted was thick with trees. So instead of clearing them out, they'd build up higher. The ducks would fly right at them not knowing anything.

We hunted off Pete's canal below Henderson Swamp, in the first part of the season we had box stands for deer, as the water came up had just enough room to park the boat under the stand. Wood duck and Merganser heaven. Wish I had taken pictures of with and without water.

You can put the smack down on them birds from above. I had one and was shooting from about 12' over the deeks. Wait till their feet touched the water and start in on them. Then they have to change direction and fly back up past you to get out the hole. I know its only a fraction of a second but it seemed like it gave you alot more gun time on them before they got out of range.

I've seen barrels hanging that high in the trees in Wallace Lake south of Shreveport. As a matter of fact, you can see one where I-49 crosses it.

I always assumed people would climb up there and get in the barrels to duck hunt.

I know some people that sink their pirouge at the bottom of trees and hunt ducks from a climbing stand, makes it alot easier to get those ducks that wont come in the hole...

Not a bad idea if you had private land to hunt from.
