Seasons coming up, and I've been stocking up and getting ready. Bought two new teal mojos, and one mallard mojo, all with wireless remotes. Swept out academies decoy sales, even bought a little camo on sale. Shells are next, so my question is... What are yalls opinions on the new blind side shells? I know its not exactly easy giving a good opinion on how they work for ducks just yet, but I'm sure somones used them for something. If their a pretty decent shell, I'll probably end up getting a case of those to go along with the Remington nitro steels I've still got half a case of

we patterened these shells along with a bunch of other shells. out of a beretta extrema 2 28" barrel with a modified kicks choke and they patterened descent at 30 yards...they fell off pretty good at 40 yards....the 2 best shells we patterened were the experts and federal's, the cheapest shells u can buy. we also patterened the shells from a browning maxus, mossberg 835 and a browning A5 31" barrel full choke. the a5 patterned the best with the blindsides.

I appreciate yalls input, I take alot of far shots so it seems the blind sides aren't for me... The best shell I've found so far is the nitro steels from Remington that get 1700 or whatever fps. Those things will knock down birds from wayyy up there. They really impressed me. Anyone ever pattern tested these?

Dukhunterf250... So the federals and experts ended up being the best pattern at 40?

Really? Hmm.. Nah I've alwaysjust shot them. They've always impressed me too, those plastic bb's are doing work then because I've knocked birds out the sky from waaaayyy up there with them.

I guess I'm just going to have to try them. What shells do y'all like the most?

ALSO-- what chokes have y'all recorded to perform the best?

Sweet, I'm going to try those kents too. I just started another thread to get an idea of what everyone uses for shooting.

Just buy u a few different boxes and pattern your gun. I really liked the heavymetal. You shoot em close tho and they'll be forked if you hit em good.

If the kents were still as cheap ad they were a few years ago I'd still shoot them. The past couple seasons I've been shooting the fed's with good results. Best place to buy them is Rogers free shipping and no tax is great. I still shoot the Kent in 20 for teal but that's about it.

Marshcreeper fill in shot shells is common. It is done when you have light shot loads that don't fill the entire wad. You cannot have the shot loose in the wad as it will affect the performance of the round, as in feet per second. The higher velocity rounds require less shot to increase the speeds on the rounds. In reloads you will see felt pads used flax seeds and things of that nature. A round of 1 1/8 oz 4's will take up less space than a load of 1 1/8 oz BB.

3 inch #6 lead. hands down
i try to shoot the same thing all year. if you shoot one type you get used to how it shoots and that seems to do the trick for me.

I used to shoot Kent all the time till they got too proud of them. They are a good shell though. The Ultrashok are on the way out and Fed is pushing the BC. Gonna pattern some Rem Hypersonic and Blindside before the season starts just for chit & giggles.

Hevi metals are the way to go if you gonna spend the money. Blinds are bullshit think about it if cubes could fly there would be square airplanes.

Post subject:  Re: Blind side shells

I have had really bad luck with the Remington shells. might jsut be me or my gun but last year I had a guy I take hunting give me a case and at least 2 to 3 shells outta every box would miss fire. I would just hear a puff and bbs would roll out my barrell. Other guys up here had the same problem. Like I said maybe it was just a bad batch but after that I'LL never buy em.. I'll stick with my kent

Post subject:  Re: Blind side shells

Sounds like a bad batch... I've never had any of the hyper sonics do that with me. So it seems Kent may be the way to go, along with Feds. I'm definitely going to try both and see what happens. I'm just tired of paying almost $30 for a box of shells, when I can get the same result or better out of the cheaper shells
