Post subject:  SETX deer hunters
Not asking for specifics or anything but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some descent deer hunting around Beach City. My uncle is working there and will be there for part of the hunting season this year. He normally hunts in the atchafalaya basin. He's just looking for some public land that he could go and make a couple hunts on.

im not sure but i would guess either the big thicket or sam houston national forest would be the closest.

tx has the 13" spread rule, so tell him to double check befor he shoots are narrow framed deer! they will ticket if it's short no matter how short.

ok thanks for the tips. I think the closest to him would be Sam Houston. I checked online and couldn't find any specific rules about that place though. Can someone point me in the right direction? Need to know if the season is the same as outside, what are the rules about stands? Can you use climbers? Do you have to take them out with you? Those kinds of rules would be nice to know.
