Post Reds in Venice
What's the best time of year to catch redfish down there? My dad and I take a fishing trip every year, and that's where he wants to go next year. Any help is greatly appreciated.

any time of the year really. I enjoy catching reds in October/November down there. I was down there last week working and with only five minutes to fish I caught two for supper that night.

I like fall and early winter. It is usally good till Christmas. Try to go during stable weather but once fish move inside the marsh there is clear water somewhere. If you are going to need guide or lodging pm me. I'm sure there are alot more here that can help you w/ that as well. If going in Nov or Dec you may want to look at a cast and blast also.

x2 now... Reports from anglers saying redfish is just silly right now.

Seen a big increase in redfish in schools in shallow water 1-2' deep at least here in Texas. Reds are grouping and easy to target.
