Go buy you a bow for bow fishing ! A deer hunting bow ain't worth a shit!! To strong and you have to anchor it to shoot!! |

I was in the same boat a couple of months ago. I didn't want to tear down my deer bow and could only lower it to 55 lbs. You want no more than 40 lbs. I bought an AMS FishHawk for $283 + $10 shipping. It was by far the best deal I could find. You only have to buy the arrow. The bow comes fully rigged and ready to shoot. I got one trip with it. Shoots great. Got it here: http://www.eastexshootingsupply.com |

x2 on the barracuda. 40 lb pull and 0% let off for snap shooting is a good start. when i first started i used a 70lb bear whitetail 2 and if i wasnt blowing up arrows, i was shooting though fish and having to turn around to pull arrow out of the mud. |

i have never had any problems with mine. if i did, i wouldn't be suggesting people to get it. i shoot a few times a week too and i have had no problems with the bow except for the user attached. (knock on wood) |

I would look for a better recurve than the kingfisher. That thing is garbage. |

its cheap and if i decide i don't like it was still cheap. If i decide i really like the recurve i will invest in a better bow |

You can get you a decent recurve on ebay in the 100 range. I bought mine at the bear museum in FL back 10 or 15 years ago. Only paid a hundred bucks for it new and it is a looot nicer than the kingfisher. If you buy one of those, I can promise you that you won't enjoy shooting a recurve. ![]() |

Thanks everyone. I have looked at a couple on the net and I will buy a bow just for this. I have time to decide I haven't even got the boat yet. (dealer said the 15th) then make a bow platform. So I have time. I did walk along the bank below the dennison dam yesterday. And I could have shot a lot of carp. Big ones to. But I'm sure you'd bust a few arrows there with all the rocks. I'm getting siked. Thanks again |

just a heads up, the barracuda has been discontinued for 2012 and will be replaced by the wave. similar to a barracuda but has split limbs, single cam, and 45# max draw weight. |
