Took a kid on his first duck hunt ever yesterday. I think I was actually more pumped up than he was! But anyways, the overall number of birds I saw yesterday was just awful. Granted the public refuge that I hunted only had one other group out there that day, so we had no other hunters to push these birds around! But the general impression is not many birds around yet? idk.. did anyone else experience bad numbers of birds for youth weekend here in tx? :|

On the bright side, he did get one teal! :) .. felt good to teach the younger generation about the sport we love!

I set out the dekes yesterday at our lease in Winnie just like we were going to hunt... Only had a few teal, and one group of grays come in. Not much flying for sure.

Saw more big ducks during teal season!!

We took the kids Saturday an Sunday here in east TX an they killed a 2 man limit both days. All gadwal widgeon an teal Thursday there was a ton of birds but not as many over weekend but still quite few

ah ... yeah i was talking to those guys earlier... we were the only ones that hunted salt bayou.. thats a pretty nice set up on the boat. Looks a lot like chad b's boat. My fault bro... yall hunting this weekend?
