Is there some where you can look up current water level in Lake Henderson? Been doing some scouting and note taking. Would be nice to note current water level for future reference. Tanx. |

Here is the best site out there for current real time water levels. Pick your District, then your basin and the closest water body. Play with to find the info you want. If you ever notice the verticle culvert looking pipes on bridges and such. Those are water gauges and they are all over the place. You will have to know what levels of water are good for you in different places but once you figure them out your good to go. For example 1 place I hunt is perfect at the 141.5'-142.5' range which equates out to 6"-18" in front of that blind. Henderson would be in the NO Dist and Atchafalaya River & Floodway Basin. http://www2.mvr.usace.army.mil/WaterCon ... layout.cfm |

I've been killing woodies in sloughs that are almost dried up, they are lighting in there then swimming to the bank and walking around like chickens eating acorns. |
