Got back late Sunday evening from our annual Sea Duck Hunt in Seldovia with guide Buck Brown, Seldovia Hunting Charters. Great shooting as usual. Friday we got into mallards and geese for the first time. The mallards were "just dying to get into the decoys". Shot all 3 species of scooters from one rock on Saturday and got my first ever, Longtail, from a flaoting blind in open water on Sunday morning. Weather was tough, with snow and wind, but all and all a great adventure. Likely my last Alaskan duck hunt for 2011. Weather is freezing everything up tight. I will be heading out next week for a stateside family visit. Will be doing a goose hunt in Wyoming and Minnesota to keep it intresting. Duckdon |

We have lots of Harli's but we don't usually shoot them. They are trophy birds, not good to eat and guys come from all over to get them. I bet I passed up at least 30 nice drakes last weekend. Harli's decoy real easy and are dumb as hell. I am booked with Goose Busters, Phil Schmidt, and the plan is to hunt near Hutchinson, Minnesota which is about 20 miles from my home town. Going to take my dad out for the day. Hope we have a good shoot. Anyone wanting to come up to Alaska contact me and I should be able to stear ya in the right direction. Duckdon |

Small world, we have a cabin in Hutchinson. It's been cold lately, 13 this morning. Still quite a few geese around though. Sent using my bag phone |
