Yea, they are blind sides, but they are black. Cheap product.

Regarding other comments I think Miles should have played Lee.

I keep my shells n a dry box when it's raining. Steel rusts really fast. The shot likely looks like that too. Looks like u picked them out the bilge on my offshore boat.

Those shells are two weeks old and were kept in a platic sell container, all neatly stacked in their individual slots. It rained once while hunting but the box was only hummid and not rainsoaked at all. No salt water within 100 miles.

Thats more than a little rain or you left them in something wet. I have shells get rained on or dog shakes off water on them all the time and usually never see rust on them. Never had anything more than a faint surface rust on some old shells. I shoot feds though so maybe they have better protection.

I still have shells from every decade from the 60s to today and the older ones don't have a bit of corrosion. And many were soaked I'm sure a time or two. But this crap is ridiculous.

I don't care if shells get soaked, they should be built to last. One would think manufacturing products intended for waterfowl hunting might mean they ought to be corrosive resistent in a WATERfowl hunting environment!!

That's what you get for buying them high dollar lawyer shells. They don't expect the uppity clowns who buy those damn things to go out hunting in any kind of bad weather.

I loaded up ammo box with brand new shells and sprayed Remington gun oil liberally over the whole lot. We'll see what happens with these.

Most high dollar shells are sealed. The crimp can be sealed and in some the wad also offers protection to the powder from moisture. Plated shot will not rust and clump together like the cheap shot in the econo shells. As for the metal on the base it's just a cheap thin plated steel that will rust.

Those rounds look like they were stored in damp conditions after the hunt. Closed up in a damp/humid container is enough to do it.

Damp and humid was the environment in which they were stored for about a week. But this looks like a years worth of corrosion.

I've got some federals in my bag that look similar to that. The box got damp in a rain storm and I left it in my bag with the remaining shells in the box. When I noticed it was too late and the rust had already started. They still worked though.
