Any reviews welcome on the Benelli Nova pump shotgun. I'm actually leaning towards the 20 gauge version. I have a SuperNova in 12, and it was a good buy. Most 20 autos out there are out of my budget so I've resigned myself to a reliable pump. Other candidates: BPS, Rem 870 express, Mossberg, Weatherby. |

My choice would be an 870. Good price, reliable, and they look alot better IMO. I hear the nova is a good gun, i just don't like the looks of it. |

Forget the 870. New ones are junk blueing is junk so is stain on stocks. My vote would be nova, have two, or mossberg Sent via telegraph |

I shoot a nova and love it. My dad shoots one as well and i have personnally watched his hit the water and mud at least 3-4 times a year for the last 3 yrs and every time picks it up dumps water out and keeps shooting. plus the Nova is very easy to break down and get it a good cleaning. |

Real good, the reviews I've read elsewhere are overwhelmingly positive. If it is anything like my SuperNova, I will get it. |

Thank you all. My BPS and the SuperNova both have helped me to become a better more patient and deliberate shooter as opposed to my previous autos. I have a BPS in 20 and it is fun and it patterns great and I need a companion gun to it and I intend to use primarily my 20 next duck season, not for health reasons, but because I hunt close and the 20 is plenty. ![]() |

I did get an auto two years ago, and that was a Beretta 3901, and I got that for $599 brand new/in the box, in 12 gauge. That has been a great comfortable shooter and flawless when using 3" magnum steel shotshells on ducks. And, despite some detractors, is easy to shoot. My friend bought a Franchi I-12 and that has given him some problems; that has an inertia action system, while the 3901 is gas. I found a 3901 (now discontinued) in 20 gauge but they want $800 for it, a bit out of my present budget. |
