 Frogs
I am a little older than most folks on here so I will tell you that when I was a Boy I used to catch and shoot frogs by the hundreds. I remember being late for one of my weddings because I was cleaning frogs. I was never good at Gigging them but I was great at Shooting them as well as catching them with my hands. We seemed to have very few of these Birds back then.
Now Frogs are almost as rare as Quail.
I still kill a few but I believe that all these old Water Birds are eating the Tad Poles.
I would gladly start killing these damn birds, if I could stay out of jail.
Any other ideas why the numbers are declining.

 Re: Frogs
If you lived in china, you'd never have to (get to) hunt anything any more! Just go to the local Wal Mark, where you can get the following in the GROCERY section: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/16-produ ... s?s=mobileLIVE turtles Live crocodiles Ducks Hogs (well, dried pig faces) and lots of other fucked up shit, including LIVE FROGS (oops)

 Re: Frogs
I doubt very seriously there is another person over the age of 15 that gigs frogs within 100 miles of where I live, I actually live on the lake I gig and I have not seen another person out there in over 20 years (we do get gator hunters on my lake though, we have some huge gators, the biggest gators harvested in GA are generally on the watershed I live on). Here In sowega (south west GA) the frog population follows the drought cycles, when we have a serious drought, there won't be the frogs for a couple of years that there is in nondrought cycles. I imagine the places where the tadpoles would be safe from predators and such are high and dry during droughts and they have to lay were there are lots of fish and such to eat the tadpoles.
