Mallard abundance was 8.5 million birds (10% increase over last year).
Gadwall abundance was 3.054 million birds (12% increase over last year).
Wigeon abundance was 2.469 million birds (1% decrease since last year).
GW teal abundance was 3.444 million birds (16% increase over last year).
BW teal abundance was 7.384 million birds (11% increase over last year).
Northern shovelers abundance was 4.376 million birds (25% increase over last year).
Pintails abundance was 3.225 million birds (23% increase over last year).
Total pond estimate (Prairie Canada and US combined) was 6.4 million ponds (45% above last year).
Good news for Louisiana was the duck abundance in the Dakotas where Louisiana gets a majority of its ducks...

Eastern Dakotas - Overall 79% increase (11.733 million) - Mallard 62% increase; Gadwall 27% increase; Widgeon 278% increase; GW teal 766% increase; BW teal 64% increase; Northern shoveler 149% increase; Pintails 245% increase
