 3 GENERATIONS!
This past Sunday I finally got the chance to take my 2 sons hunting for the very first time! It was nothing short of amazing! My father also went to complete the 3 generation trifecta! I could not have asked for a better day! Actually a better 2 days!
About a month ago my father was diagnosed with a Pituitary tumor in his brain. It was then that he thought he might never hold a shotgun again. He has started medication to get his Endocrine system straightened out and is finally almost back to his old self! We are not completely out of the woods yet, we will be headed to Denver, CO on the 19th for him to have surgery to remove the tumor. The Docs say that recovery time is fairly minimal and that it should be nothing short of "routine" and a full recovery is expected!
Having said all that we decided to hunt together all weekend and that it was time for my boys' first hunt! Opening day came with rain and cooler temps that had the birds somewhat scarce. It didnt really matter though b/c we were together along with my bro-in-law ONCALL. Shot 18 b/w the 3 of us but had lotsa laughs and remember when stories! Sunday arrived with bright skies and smiling faces. When I went to get them up @ 620, the first thing out of their mouths was "Daddy, shoot the doves?" To that I replied "ABSOLUTLEY!" My wife even made her first hunt so she could take pictures. To top it all off we got to have this first hunt on pproperty that has been in our family for a long time! Heres a few pics to share my joy with this wonderful sport we call hunting. Im 35 yrs old and have hunted since I was 2 with my father and for the first time in my life I really understood what kind of impact this sport has on my life! Cant wait to get em in the duck blind!!!
