honda eu 1000 is surging??

 honda eu 1000 is surging?? I guess you would call it surging or hunting. but at eco idle, eco off, or under load it surges about every 2-3 minutes. I have replaced spark plug and cleaned carb- "emulsion tube is usually the problem". Cant get it this time. Valves create this problem? It starts easily just surges when running. sometimes it kicks my hps lights out. Any ideas??

Re: honda eu 1000 is surging?? Last time I had a problem similar to that it was a bad low oil shutdown. Not on a Honda.

Re: honda eu 1000 is surging?? yea i pulled the main jet and emulsion tube and cleaned. I'm just not sure about the pilot jet. i dont know how to get at it. there is a idle adjustment tab on the side i reckon i will take it out and clean. the jets are so small on these things i have to strip a 16 guage wire and use one strand to clean.
