Just go ahead and book a trip sponsored by Scales and Tails Bowfishing so you can bring me with you, and we can report back with our experience. Or better yet, trade a hunt with them that way you can bring me for free ![]() |

Perfect! But as far as the hunting goes, all I can tell is what's shown on their website. I haven't heard from or talked to anybody that's hunted there. I'm sure it's like hunting in a zoo of monster bucks though. I would definately make a trip if I had a couple grand to blow... |

Never hunted there but seen plenty of hunting shows filmed there. It's like having a high fence because it sits on an island which allows them to manage the herd. Facilities look awesome and they kill some monster bucks there. I believe a guide has to hunt with you so you don't make any rack judgement mistakes. With my $, I'm going back to IL again for my 3rd year. It's about the same price but we hunt 6 days in IL. |

If you want to hunt a high fence property, I know of one in Clinton. I actually welded most of the fence posts around the property when it was going up a few years ago. There's huge deer and a very nice lodge. They look to be a little more expensive though... |

I know several people that have hunted Giles Island, and a few that go every year. The only gripe I've personally heard from someone that hunted it, he disagreed with the guide on a buck's age. He raises deer and knows how to age on the hoof. Guide said 3.5, he said 5.5 and wanted to shoot.... ended up shooting an old run down 8 pt on the last day. Other than that, never heard anything but good things. I don't think you could go wrong with either Giles or Tara. |

Giles has some really nice deer. Guides are pretty good and they are ur insurance to make sure the deer is a shooter I know a guy SPEED BANCROFT his grandpa owns Giles. I have seen quite a few deer that have came from there two on my friends wall. It is a well managed place!! |

Check out the new issue of buckmasters mag for an article on Giles. Basically it talks about how the island flooded bad in 2011 and how all the deer that fled typically return. The owner let the guide shoot a 182" buck on film to get some bookings going. They killed 55 bucks over 125" last year. |
