I couldn't believe how much damage that thing encountered considering it was 20 yds. out.

That's dumb, in my opinion if you set out to decoy ducks, you should shoot a choke to decoy ducks and kill them there. I shoot an open choke and hold a pattern to about 45 yards. If you can't get them any closer than that you need to get better at calling or hiding.

That's fine then, I have extended range tubes as well, and I shoot them in the right situations. But shooting extended tubes because they "lay the hammer down" is dumb. You shouldn't be blowin birds up like that. I'd be willing to bet that bird got tossed.

Cody when it's early and wind ain't to bad I shoot a 20 gauge as much as I can!! Plus inside of 40yds I have a choke for 4's

It's cool, I'm not tryin to come across as holy either, I've hit birds hard like that too. I believe you were using light loads too. It just came across wrong for me, of course it's tough to tell on the Interweb. You guys are good shit, don't let me slow you down.

Whacking a bird like that happens now and again, I just don't set out to do it on purpose.

Got the new goose from patternmaster. its like the new version of the extended range choke. its done great. patterns the best for me with kent fasteel 2's n 4's.
