Who else got bit by the bug? Just picked up an AR chambered in it yesterday. I think this has some potential to be a real nice hog hunting gun.

I'm hearing more and more about that 300 blackout
Only downside is gettin brass to reload, yes you can use 556 and a lil work
Talked with two different guys that hung with 300 blackout and suppressors for hogs !!! They swear by em

Brass and ammo is readily available. I just bought 5 boxes of plinking ammo with 110 grn bullets for $11 a box. And there's tons of choices for hunting ammo with premium bullets. I need to buy a set of dies.

I went with the 458 SOCOM in the AR platform. The brass is high dollar however I bought dies for mine right off. The loaded rounds are higher than giraffe puzzy

Randy, I thought about getting one of those, but if I was going to do that, I might as well just continue to hunt with the 45-70 I was using. I'm going for low recoil/quick follow up shots, decent knock down power out to 300, and cheap ammo

Crews we can't use 4570 here in Indiana during firearms deer season. However we can use the socom due to it being considered a pistol cartridge rifle round. Don't ask me??? I too have 4570's and a big fan of them. I use my old 1886 Winny for out of state hunts. The socom is one bad ass deer thumper. I had my socom with me a couple weeks ago in La while gator hunting. We had some bait stations set up for hogs. I have a Leupold 3x8 ballastic firedot scope on mine.

Waiting on the UPS man to deliver my Leupold VX-R with firedot for mine, mounted in a Bobro offset mount. Should be the ticket!

I run the Larue mount on mine. Very happy with it. I think you will like that scope. You should have one heck of a hunting rifle when you get her set up.

I got a Daniel Defense in a 16"..... I'll probably send a stamp in for a suppressor, but I'm not losing my gun to wait for an SBR, it's not worth it to me.
