Post HID hardhat light!
Made this today, got a HID off road light from oreilly. Cut out the back of the housing and put the ballast in a junction box a couple feet from the battery connections with a switch on it. Extremely bright!! Not quite as much of a spot as the regular lights, but much better quality light. The light cost $125, so altogether with the hat and connections about 150. Has a lexan shield in front of the bulb too. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352419321.466121.jpg

Not this again.!. Get a regular head light so you aren't tied to a car battery!

Auto it's nice but to heavy to frog with. We use to build them a lot but you can get the bulb for $15-20 at the local hardware store. Total cost $25

It's not heavy at all. The ballast is on the cord.
