Saw some posts about MM in another thread. To those of you who use them... How effective do you find them? As good as the mojo before the ducks learned what they were? When/under what conditions is the MM most effective? When is it less affective? Do you think it works better than a jerk line enough to make it worth the extra trouble? Has anybody made their own? It would be simple to do. I've seen some people have on YouTube. It would save some money-especially if you had and old troller or could get one cheap. Thanks. Spence |

I just started looking into that this morning, I've got a 30# thrust trolling motor i picked up at a garage sale. I can't decide if its worth trying to build an ice eater or turn it into a mallard machine. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2 |

they are a pain in the ass to build, pain in the ass to put out and pick up every time. If you don't leave your decoys don't bother. I will buy trolling motors thou |

There a pain in the ass to set out and pick up... Jerk rig works just as well for a hell of a lot cheaper and much simpler... |

Thanks. How many decoys do you usually usually put on a single jerk line? Do you just use a small anchor on the far end? I've heard of attaching a bungee cord to the anchor and then the line to it. Is that worth it? Do you worry about then line coming out off the water when you pull it? I thought about using another small anchor near the boat/blind and running the cord through it like a pulley. |

Alrite I'll quit being an ass some people seem to have so much edumacation but no common sense docott it's so simple u don't need a set of plans go to the hardware store buy a 6 ft piece of steel 3/8 put it in the hitch of ur truck bend about 6 inches of it into a 90 for a handle to shove in ground but a roll of green 1/4 in mainline attach to steel bar buy the longest bungee u can find attach to pole pull slack in main line and tie bungee in get the little copper flare fittings that are for flaring copper tubing and run down mainline where u want decoy squeeze with pliers run a big snap swivel to crimped flare fitting then run another one down and crimp for each place u want decoy usually 7 at the most then find a nice fiberglass shovel handle with rubber grip drill hole and insert line and tie knot and booyah u have a jerk rig |

I took my mm and used the battery pack from ahigdon pulsator .plugs right in and automatically cycles like the higdon. Makes it a lot easier than running cords to blind |

Duckthang,I've hunted over these for three years and they are bad ass. My buddy is the builder. They back their product 100%. |

My jerk string always gets tangled and clusterfukked in the weeds and grass and nobody ever wants to pull on it plus the ducks might spot you. I've started rachet strapping a trolling motor to a stump in the decoy spread with a small 4 wheeler/motorcycle battery hooked to it and leave it on a low speed all morning that way there are ripples on the water continuously. |

I had a similar idea, Woodie. Hunting out of boat blind-small transom mount trolling motor mounted on the gunnel facing decoys. flip the controls around so they're in the boat and you could even control speed and direction. |
