I fry them. The fillets are thin so they get real crispy. I rather a sheep head than a red

I ate redfish in a fish stew...just like a crab stew. but with redfish...very good..

boil the fish for about 5 mins in some liquid crab boil, you would swear you eating crab stew...

but i agree,,,shephead are best fried...

Next time you fry,,try crushing up some cool ranch doritoes and batter them in that....Very good!!! Make da ole lady drop da con'son's....

Nice Job! They are delicious just about any way you prepare them. Definitely a bitch to clean!

Holy crap, you guys can take 15 per shooter per day?! You must wear out a fillet knife in a season. We only get 4 per here.

Post subject:  Re: Shooting Below The Water

They aint that bad to clean once you get the hang of it... Yeah, high limit, bad thing is I'm sure it was 12 per person last year, there was only two of us and I found out it was 15 Sunday!! LOL. We could've easily shot 60. I will be back for another round or two, or three, or....

We don't have a limit here. As for as cleaning them a Dexter russel will smoke a electric all day long. I have zero issues cleaning them

Post subject:  Re: Shooting Below The Water

The fella that went with me asked if I had an electric, I said nope and never have owned one. Dont want to need a power source.

I might need to check into those Dexter Russels, bout time for a new knife...

They make a tiger tooth knife that I think I am gonna try next.

Post subject:  Re: Shooting Below The Water

Can you fillet off the skin with that easy or will it grab?

I see the tiger tooth but the other one looks better to me, do they get dull like a traditional serrated blade?

I've cleaned fish all last year and it's still sharp. Their only 20-25 dollars if you go trough one a year it's still beats 3-4 electric knives a year
