They were hunting flooded timber situated between rice fields that were "buffalo'd", said the on air personality. Mallards were rediculously. That is baiting at its most sinister level. How can we expect in Louisiana any Mallards with this kind of illegal commercial hunting activity. Someone needs to raise hell about this guide service right now. In fact I'm sending email to ARK WLF about this in the morning.

It's done all the way down the flyways now. It's one of the reasons duck don't make it down here like they did as recently as 10 years ago.

It's been going on as long as rice grew inside of levees...it's not a new development or some kind of revolutionary tactic...it's old news. I don't see the big fuss. Last year we had stubble with rings front and back the blind for the first split and buffaloed open water for the second split and we didn't do dick in the second split...numbers dropped off bad. Once it's buffaloed its gone. If you leave stubble at least there's rice left for the ducks to eat. Like I said Guidry you must have never stepped foot Ina rice field bitching about something you know nothing about...I liked it better when you complained about sky blasters and people running around before shooting time. Looks like a rice field in my pond in the marsh rice everywhere. Ducks love it it's like dessert to them after eating a big meal of snails and mud..

It will be ok just means we going to have to move to Ark. Next yr.

Why would a rice farmer want to lay an entire field of mature unharvested rice on the ground? Doesn't seem very practical or profitable. Sounds like you pulled that out of your ass to me.

I've been hunting over mature rice....it just started falling out a couple weeks ago....farmer plants rice to feed crawfish. ... The duck hunting still sucks....been getting some specs in the wet grass fields though......

You should see what they have been doing in Missouri for several years now. It has changed our hunting. Some management plan. I guess we all complain about the migration and the state to our north.

How do you know they didnt roll rice that was cut?
