 Re: My newest Project
The alum angle will enclose my 4'x68' pontoons. I will be making alum rakes for front. Then, the 2 pontoons will be spaces 12' apart. 2x10x24' will then be bolted to 12" alum studs. 2' over hand on each side of pontoon enclosure. The floats can float 75k pounds. Hoping to be around 40k pounds when finished. So, 15" of draft should be all it takes to float.

 Re: My newest Project
I thought you were going to build a mud boat ramp so you could host extreme mud boat jumping competitions at different mud runs. Rent the ramp out to organizers and let all the GT owners have something else to boast about...they can jump the furthest and the longest.

 Re: My newest Project
By calculating how much total weight will be. (Rounding up on all additions)
I can float over 58,000 #'s. So, I am estimating a total weight of 25,000#'s. this will mean I draw 1' of water. Even if I draw up to 2', the deck/floor of camp will still be 2'6" from water line.

My rakes and water tanks are alum. Remainder of flotation is styrofoam filled plastic.

 Re: My newest Project
J, that's mighty long to only have 2" angle as the backbone for the entire length. I assume u looked into it before starting. A lot of weight in the middle will want to cause the outer edges to bend upward due to the uneven distribution of weight.
Anyway, the whole family will definitely be able to stretch out on that thing.

 Re: My newest Project
It's 3"x3". 3/16"
It's not going to be on the edge. The 2x10's bolt on each upright. The walls of the camp will be almost center of pontoons.
