Y'all have some liberal limits. We only get 3 total 20-28" slot in the promised land of Texas |

We can only catch two per person in Florida and you can't shoot them... |

And on the west side of Florida you can't keep a snook. On my side of Florida I can keep one that is between 28-32 inches. Definitely no shooting or spearing. I bet if we had the saltmarsh habitat to support a larger population the limits might be loosened a bit, but not shooting or spearing. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2 |

Is there a size limit (min or max) when shooting them? Seems like if there was, you'd only want to shoot the ones that were clearly big enough? I've never really bowfished for anything with a size limit |

Nice catch. Hard to tell in the picture but they all look pretty big. Whats avg. length on those? |

Yes brack there is a 16" minimum. It something you learn with time on how to judge them. I shoot a good amount of fish a year and honestly over the last 3 years of bowfishing maybe 1-3 fish were shot undersized. I did keep them. Is it illegal for me to do that? Yes. However I do believe that if I was stopped by a game warden and I told him I would rather keep the fish than just throw him in the marsh to die, he would inserstand. Now if I had 5-6 fish undersized that would be a different story. To be honest a 16" red looks tiny underwater and most people would miss anyways. The people who don't bowfish miss 22" reds all night and the ones that can hit 16" don't shoot because they have normally shot enough to judge |

Even with as many people that come in my boat very seldom is undersized fish shot. Actually you really never see them. Sometimes I have more problems with fish over 27 than under 16. |

Don't believe we can Bowfish "Gamefish" in TX, including Reds or Trout. Not positive. Sure wish we could, I would like to get in to it! |
