I know it's still triple digits outside and only early August, but I'm jazzed about Teal season this year for some reason.

Yep, these past few days I've been gettin' the fever too. Won't be long. Had to take a break and pop in a couple duck killin' videos yesterday to hold me over.

Ya went out lookin for some new spots and actually saw about fifty black ducks today really got me amped up

I feel your joy myself. I don't know why but teal season always puts a smile on my face. I have a big slough behind my house and have 19 mallards on it that my buddy and I raised. Their momma was killed a couple years ago and my buddy put the eggs on his incubator. He now has over one hundred tame/wild mallards that he is slowly getting rid of. I took the 19 a month or so ago and watched them grow up and now are getting their adult colors. They call all day long and boy does that churn my butter. They are people friendly and my buddys come over and we sit and watch and listen to them. They get into trouble about everyday when they get caught sleeping on my front porch. My wife scatters them to the wind when she catches them on the porch. They flush and fly around my property and land back on the slough. One ol sassy hen will get real nasty with her calls. If you have ever raised tame/wild mallards you will know what I am seeing and hearing. I'm hoping they lure some teal in this Sept for me to watch. Its really cool how far teal actually migrate and you have to love those little guys. The woodies are moving around now and you can see they are getting their adult colots too.

I am really pumped up about this season too. I been workin on my boat for a week now. I fixed up my pop up blind. Put a new paint job on her. And i'm workin on the camo job with the stencil kit this week. Then stickin down my hydro turf...Oh by the way it is possible to get hydro turf in sections 49WX88L in gator boat brown which the color is "olive drab green".. PM for more details..

We been working hard here too. We bout to plant a pond on our property full of that new mossy oak biologic guides choice for waterfowl. Just praying for no hurricanes.

Its probly b/c youi finaly got you a good rig.............got rid of the POS PD and GD an dgot the best.

Got a bud that I hunt with who has the same setup except with a 29 Hyper, and I drove it around some last duck season. Man I forgot how easy a mud rig could be and getting in the shallows and running the creeks, too easy. So I was either going to get a rig similar to his new or get lucky and find one used...I got lucky. The only knock on his was I thought it was a little underpowered, he needed a 35 on his rig. I got me one with a 35 already and this thing is perfect and easy! Sorry about the ramble but everytime I put it in the water I like it more and more.

Came home early from Sam Rayburn today - so I ran out into Trinity Bay - and there they were....

Flight of 6 to 8 Blue Wing Teal.... Sittin on the bay....

please stop looking for teal.... they're not supposed to be here yet. If dey were.... dey wouldn't still be here when it was time. So if u do think see sum.... hurry up & look da other way & count to 10, then just go about ur merry way & pretend it was n!gger geese or sumthin. lol

I don't wanna see a single mother forkin teal until openin mornin.
