NW LA Duck Hunters, Hey guys I have an idea that I would like to bounce off of everybody that hunts in NW LA. I get to hunt just about everyday and have for years and I hunt in NW LA. I was talking with a friend about the possibility of changing the season dates for NW LA. I feel strongly that in NW LA we should have a season that starts the last Saturday in October or the first Saturday in November and runs through the first week in January without a split. Every year since I can remember we seem to have a huge push of birds the last week in October or the first week in November and we always miss them starting later in the month. Also it seems that after the push we see with the first good front around Thanksgiving the only big waves of birds we see slide through during the split only to be far south when we crank up in mid December. January for me every year is a bust. Guys what I'm talking about here is trying to change the season dates for the NW corner of LA to increase the number of big ducks that we have a oppurtunity to hunt. I understand that it would include changing zone lines and possibly adding a third zone. Please let me know what your thoughts are about the idea good and bad. Thanks |

While I have noticed pretty much the same thing I doubt a change would be considered for a 3rd zone or even date changes. But who knows. |
