 My hunting season.
I have not been on here for some time. I hope im putting this on the right area.
Well we had a awesome season and one that going to be hard to top. Before the season started we had found out.We only drawn one swan tag. Then I found out a couple buddy drawn and another buddy son drawn a tag.Are season opened up Oct 6My buddy and and ex father in law sleeped in and hunted the after noon hunt. That way we had missed the crowed. The plan worked out great. We head to the marsh around 12. We launched the boat and got all set up. We killed 21 ducks in three hours and was loaded back up and head home before end of shooting hours. 2nd day of the season was a little slow.We hunted a spot we like a lot. we killed 12 ducks. On the 3rd day we took my buddy family out for a short hunt and had a great time killed three ducks with them there. We hunted the whole month of Oct hard killing good number of birds. Nov come around. We started to hunt swan about the 2nd weekend of Nov.I guided a guy for his first time swan hunt and got him his swan in his face and he shot it 10 feet from the boat. My buddy shot his first band and it was on a hen canvasback the number was gone on the band. The next week we went after swan again to fill his tag and my buddy son tag. My buddy Killed his swan and it was banded and had a neck collar on it.His 2nd band in a week. Then my buddy son killed his swan. I took out two new swan hunters out and got them there first duck. Also took a couple other people out for there first hunt of any kind.Had a great season. here are some pic from the season.

 Re: My hunting season.
?? Is it normal to put that many deek out for the opener ? We like to start with just a few and then work up to bigger spreads as the season goes on.

 Re: My hunting season.
My decoy spreads depend on fronts, and if we have a big push of fresh birds and I am hunting some bigger water I will put out a pretty big decoy spread, especially when there is a strong wind to move them around.
When its hot or the birds are stale I will scale down to a few decoys on a jerk rig and hunt thickets.
