Found two of these in my crawfish traps this morning. One made it inside, the other tried to go in though the wire mesh and died. Nothing left but bones and the head intact inside the cage. Amphiumas.... They eat crawfish and mud snakes eat them. I have a video of of a snake and one of these things battling in the swamp. Ill get it off my work computer and post it in monday |

There is a two toed and a three toed one. One of which is only found in south la which I find pretty interesting. Just can't remember which one it is |

We call them sirens in south ga they live in our drainage ponds and shit and when they fill up they come out they are said to be some kind of poisenes |

We always called them mud puppies. IDK why though. Caught em on rod n reel a few times while catfishing. |

Broke a shaft on the longtail about 3 miles from a main canal in the basin a few years ago... Was walking it back to a main canal so I could get signal and have someone pull us in, and walked right past about 3 of them and damn near made my own canal with as fast as my feet were tramping |

Lampreys have a circular mouth with small teeth. I catch them all the time. I always wanted to let one bite me to see if it will hurt or leave a hicky. Too skeer'd. |
