This was posted on another site... as to how to avoid Academy and the PITA it is to deal with non-hunters and idiots behind the register. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/licenses/ "click buy license online' "It's a whole new process .... and if you only fish your really fine... But if you get a super combo and like to duck hunt .... they charge you an extra $2 for a duck stamp that gets sent to you in the mail, plus you still have to go on line (link above) to get certain permits like the snad hill crane, which the permit is free but you have to pay $5 for shipping and you get another piece a paper in your wallet" Save yourself some money if you fish / hunt Texas like I do and buy your licenses online! |

it's not new, but it is a very good option to dealing with the retards in the retail stores. I have done it that way for a couple of years. |

Guess I am lucky; just roll down to the TP&W office and get it there. All of a 10 minute drive for me. Lady's behind the counter is pretty sharp for the most part. Also seems to always have a question for a Warden when I am there. |

Dayum dats high for a lifetime hunting lisence in TX. Her in LA it is $300 hunting, $300 fishing and if you buy together its $500. When kids are young you can get a lifetime for hunting and fishing for $300 IIRC. |

You have to watch those idiots at Academy...my buddy bought his this year and they didn't put his migratory bird stamp on it and he got a ticket opening morning of dove season. |
