Posted this question on a local forum as well but figured a lot of you guys would have knowledge on this as well. I'm getting into gigging an my first trip was a bust due to murky water.
What has the most effect on water clarity? Wind, rain, stage of tide?
What do you guys look for as far as weather/water conditions when you plan a trip?
I am in creeks and mudflats in a marsh arou charleston sc. Habitat looks great just couldn't see a thing.
Thank you

Down where we gig u have to watch a number of things. The tide, the wind, and which way it been blowing, the rain doesn't affect us much, if shrimp season just opened and everyone dragging, if the south is blowing it pushes water And sediment in,
. We do really well when the tide is standstill at night

I Bowfish same principle. I like out going tides. As for as wind south wind is the worse like said before it brings in muddy water.

If in South Carolina I would assume yes, winds out the west. Wind coming off of land not towards.

If the wind is turning up the water in your spot. Go to the opposite shoreline, it will be more protected
