Anyone ever do any camping on lake Charlotte off the Trinity river? I'm looking for a place to take the family this weekend.to camp and ride some. Any inside help or ideas would be great

I did a kayak trip from there a while back. There are some camping spots in the park. You're supposed to register but its a very laid back place and I dont think anybody really expects you to register. You can launch your boat at the park from a little beach and head northwest ish to the right of the big grassy area to find the main pass into the river. there is another pass off to the southwest corner of the lake but it is harder to find.

By chance anyone know if there's electric/water. Bring wife with popup camper

it's fairly primitive there. I'm sure you could find water but probably not right at the campsite. power is more doubtful. I can't say for sure because I didnt stop in at the campsites, just drove by to get to the beach area.

heres a little overview from google earth. as you can see, there really isnt much to the park.

You will not be able to launch a mudboat at the park - just small
hand carried pirouges and kayaks - no guns and no beer or liquor....

You can launch at the locks or under I-10 - your truck will be safer
at the locks....

It is a cute little park though and like they already said very laid back
and quiet - bet you have the place all to yourself.... Charlotte and
Mac lake are both fun riding places....
