currently shootin the PSE X-force.. i had a accident riding horses, destroyed my shoulder. cant pull back my bow. once i realized how bad it was i bought the draw-loc system to aid in cocking bow. now dont get me wrong.. it will work, but thinking about buyin a backup crossbow

since i also cant shoot my 7 mag, im more than likely gona set up a ground blind and interested in crossbows. keep in mind im not the dumbass who buys a crossbow and takes a 75 yd shot just b/c its accurate. no shot will be over 40-50 yards, as i want penetration. whats out there, mid-range priced (300-400 dollars) any assistance..? local store by the house has a horton summit i believe for 200.

Recoil may be an issue... With a hunting broadhead mine
actually kicks suprisingly hard... If your ACL is badly torn
the recoil is right on top of it....

OK - not ACL - but ARC - Anterior Rotator Cuff....

Sorry wrong medical terminology - but I bet until he rehabs it
that recoil will be a consideration - that was my point as some
of the more powerful crossbows have noticable recoil when you
put on the hunting broadheads....

Di-Methyl Sulfuric Oxide. Needless to say, its a rub on for horses with bone and muscle injuries. Pretty much numbs the entire area its applied to. My dad used to make me rub it on my legs and my knees when i was rodeoing. It works like a charm, but your gonna taste garlic for a few days afterwards. While i was in high school, it was banned by LHSAA because kids were using it in football and breaking bones and not noticing it broken.

I had my good heading mare throw me off about a month ago, dislocated my shoulder. She never bucked before and just must have been having a bad day. You never know when one of them might break on ya.

You might want to consider an Excalibur recurve. It might be a better fit. Love mine and would buy it again.

Excalibur, carbon express, PSE, ten point are the the best not so expensive options. I dont care what anyone says the barnetts are junk. Every now and then theres a good one but more not than so. I sell and work on bows everyday and out of all the above mentioned Barnetts are the only ones ive seen repeatedly fail.

Order of preference would be
Carbon Express
Excalibur
PSE
Ten point

Only reason i put ten point at the bottom is because of their stupid omni-nock system otherwise it would be 1 or 2

Excalibur micro 355. It's accurate and light. It can be worked on in the field
