Anybody hunt ducks with one? Likes/dislikes ( other than the obvious 2 shells ). Was thinking about getting one of them Stoeger Uplander Longfowler for shoot'n Woodies.

Broke my wrist a few years ago and the only gun I could lift was a light upland 16ga Side by side. Made me a patient hunter. Killed quite a few limits with it.

My brother hunted with one for years, get one with a modern style pistol type grip not the straight English style if you want to shoot steel or magnums because the ye old style stock will slam the trigger guard into your finger every time you fire either breaking your finger or leaving a nice hard callous.
He shot 40g leads with me one opening and now owns a large scar tissue in his finger for it.

I used to shoot SxS a long time ago. For some reason I wasn't very proficient in wing shooting with them but I could bust rabbits ass with them. Since then I haven't had the urge to try one out.

My father has hunted with an old side by side for as long as I can remember. I have seen him drop triples with two shots many times and he drops just as many birds as everyone else while using 2-3/4" shells. If I didn't know better I'd swear he was using lead.

traded a guy some work for an uplander supreme in 20ga. fun little gun to shoot and is my go to when going to throw clays, usually turns some heads. Wouldn't hesitate to use it for waterfowl if I shot some heavier loads

If it kicks the shells out right, u can get 4 shots b4 they are out of range.

My uncle could get 3 shots in wif a single shot that worked properly.

Through this year I used an old hand me down savage arrms 12 Side by side. Love the gun hate the recoil. Going auto for next year for the recoil dampening and ability to reach farther than my 20 auto I use as well. Going to miss it though I think.

Bought a Browning BSS 12 ga. 28" barrel, 3" chamber, fixed chokes IC/M, beavertail forearm/pistol grip 1981 model made in Japan, for $900 back in 1990. It is my favorite gun and it shoots great and patterns great with steel shot- according to Browning steel shot is fine but not to use anything greater than #1 shot. Of course I don't use it everyday and I baby it and sure it has a few scratches but it has character and it is a classic and if you want to shoot one get one or a Stoeger and who cares what anyone thinks, enjoy it!
